Artist Statement

With an appreciation for landscape and organic forms, Brian Wolf's paintings are orderly in composition and liberal in their use of color. His latest series of paintings combines those natural forms with elements of ancient architecture to create a sense of mystery. Wolf states, "I color to suggest light and shadow of imagined landscapes. Flat planes of muted color obscure the sense of space between vaguely familiar forms. Bare mountains, broken aqueducts, floating clouds, and empty doorways welcome the viewer to a familiar but distant world."
