Arts in Education

The AIE program allows students (grades K–12) and teachers to work with highly qualified artists, who provide twelve to fourteen art residencies per year. These residencies integrate art methods and strategies within targeted curriculum areas, with the goal of improving student performance and developing new teaching skills for teachers.

BAAC partners with both Batesville and Southside School Districts to provide these residencies, and has brought over 40 artisans into the schools over the past several years. Artists have established a strong rapport with the schools and have become an important part of the community.

The Arts in Education Program is supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, which is an agency of the AR Department of Heritage & the National Endowment for the Arts.
