Sigrid Lorfing

 

The Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery on Main hosted In & Out of Body, an exhibition by Sigrid Lorfing, August 13 - September 28, 2019.  This exhibition featured mixed media paintings that explore the connections between mind, body, and trauma.

Lorfing is an artist and educator residing in Russellville, Arkansas. She teaches art at the middle school and junior high levels for the Pottsville School District and spends her summers creating personal artwork in her home studio. Her work is mostly autobiographical, drawing from real life events. “Much of this exhibition is a product of grief work-- my efforts to adapt and adjust to life after losing a loved one,” Lorfing states about her work.
