Artist Statement

I want to thank the Lord for giving me the talents and gifts that I have continued to utilize throughout the years. I have a passion for creating art, that depicts many components, of Southern Culture, that’s been an integral part of my upbringing, such as picking and chopping cotton, fishing, ironing, picking black berries, raking yards, and picking up pecans etc; Many of my paintings are inspired from photographs, that I capture while traveling. I also enjoy working with all mediums, oils, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, colored sand, colored pencils, and charcoal. I find joy in taking my viewers down memory lane and incorporating the principles and elements of art within my paintings.
