Carly Dahl

Executive Director

Carly is an artist from Monroe, Michigan who relocated to Batesville in 2010. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from the Center for the Visual Arts at the University of Toledo, Ohio. She worked as the Director of the Kresge Gallery at Lyon College for over four years, and has served as a board member of Number, Inc. an arts journal based in Memphis, TN, which is dedicated to promoting the art of the South. She also served on the BAAC board for four years and is grateful to now lead the organization as Executive Director. Carly is also an active artist who has exhibited her work both regionally and nationally.

Mirranda Sprayberry

Board President

Mirranda is the Advancement Services Specialist in the office of Institutional Advancement and Development at Lyon College. Being born in Batesville to one of the Arkansas Twin Artist’s, Judy Gagner, Mirranda was exposed early to the both the visual and performing arts. Although life took her out of the area, she returned in 2005 to the Ozarks to pursue her education and raise her two children. Mirranda is proud to be a part of the Batesville Area Arts Council, and looks forward to contributing to the community in such a meaningful way. 

Hannah Keller Flanery

Board Vice President

Hannah Keller Flanery is a Batesville native and graduate of Batesville High School. She received her bachelor's degree in news editorial journalism from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro and completed her Master of Public Administration at ASU in 2016. She worked as an editor at the Paragould Daily Press before moving to Little Rock to work for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 2006. During her career in journalism, Hannah has been a reporter, photographer, designer, and editor. She returned to Batesville in 2013 to take the position of Communications Specialist at Lyon College. She joined UACCB as Assistant to the Chancellor in August 2015. She became Communications and Marketing Coordinator in July 2018. She currently serves as Vice President for the BAAC board and previously served as secretary.

Aaron Herndon

Board Treasurer

Aaron Herndon is Retail Branch Manager and Consumer Loan Officer at Citizens Bank’s headquarters location in Batesville.  He earned an Associate of Applied Science Business Services degree, with a Banking and Finance focus, from the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.  He is a graduate of the Barret Graduate School of Banking and the Citizens Bank EDGE leadership program.  Aaron, who is a native of Cave City, also serves as a member of the Old Independence Regional Museum.  He is excited at the opportunity to expand the support for and appreciation of the arts in our community.

Jill Hilton

Board Secretary

Jill Hilton is the Director of Human Resources for Citizens Bank.  She holds a degree in Psychology  from the University of Texas at Dallas. After 24 years in Arkadelphia, Jill and her husband, Ricky, have recently relocated to a historic home in downtown Batesville.  The Hiltons have one daughter who currently resides in Fayetteville.  Jill enjoys travel, reading, and art, and looks forward to giving back to the community by participating on the BAAC Board.

Ira Lee Barnett

Board Member

Ira Lee Barnett has lived in Arkansas her entire life and loves it! She graduated from ASU in 2002 with B.S. in MRI/CT, an Associates in Radiology, and a minor in BioAnthropology, and has worked at MPOC Orthopedic clinic since graduation. Although Ira Lee doesn't work in a creative field, her life is full of creativity, always having a project in the works, and like most creatives, her interests bounce all over the place! She is excited to lend her time to BAAC to help focus her creativity towards the organization and it's outreach, and looks forward to pushing herself into new experiences and growing in purpose and position in the art community.

Kathy Clements

BCT Representative

Retired. BA in Media Arts/Communication from Lyon College (then Arkansas College); freelance photographer/journalist for Three Rivers Edition and the Batesville Guard for a number of years; Interim instructor, undergraduate photography, Lyon College several semesters; photography instructor for Upward Bound Math and Science for several summers; Arkansas Arts Council Artist-in-Education for several years, teaching film photography in middle schools, arts centers, and the Museum of Discovery in central and south Arkansas. Kathy is a member of Batesville Community Theatre, and serves as the BCT liaison on the BAAC board.

Morgun Henson

Board Member

Morgun is an artist that has grown up in Batesville and has always had a passion for the arts. She recently graduated from Lyon College with a Bachelor's Degree in art, and is currently the Marketing Manager at David's Home and Sleep Center. She enjoys painting murals and giving back to my community in an artistic way.  During college she worked at BAAC for 4 years, and is excited to continue serving the organization on the board! "The Batesville community and art are two of my favorite things and I love to see these two things combined."

Kim Whitten

Board Member

Kim Whitten is Director of Advancement at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and has worked in higher education since 2002. She has a passion for education and community development. She has an MS in Community and Economic Development and BBA in Marketing from the University of Central Arkansas. Her love of community has provided her with opportunities to serve on several boards and volunteer organizations including currently serving as a Chamber Ambassador for the Batesville Chamber of Commerce. Kim’s other important role is “Grammy Kim” to five delightful grandkids! She enjoys drinking copious amounts of coffee, yoga, painting, photography, travel, and an eclectic mix of music. She also has a weekly podcast with her friend entitled “Friends Since 5.”
